Mexican Tin Ornaments

3 Hours
Workshop Description
Have you ever seen a tin ornament and wondered, "how did they make that"? In this class you will learn how to make Mexican tin ornaments. You will learn basic metal embossing techniques, metal painting, how to assemble ornaments, and how to embellish the ornaments in your own personal style. The ornaments that we will be making in class will be shaped in the style of traditional Mexican nichos and shrines. However, once you know the basic techniques necessary to assemble these ornaments, you will be able to make them in any shape that you desire: hearts, flowers, etc. This will not be the typical ornament; your ornament will have a window in it. In this window you can place images or photos of someone or something that you love. Imagine, a personalized Mexican tin ornament!!! You can also use these techniques to embellish frames, journals, books, greeting cards, ATC's and more.
